Tomal’s big bag discharger simplifies the handling of large bags and makes emptying the material more efficient.
The solution is suitable for both disposable and returnable bags. In combination with Tomal’s multi-screw feeder, you get a complete unit for big bag discharge and accurate dosing, with control over bridging.
We also offer alternative equipment for lifting and suspending the big bag.

Frequently asked questions about silo filling
Can the big bag discharger handle both disposable and returnable bags?
Yes. Disposable bags are opened with a pyramid knife, while returnable bags are handled via a hatch on the big bag cone that connects to a connection ring.
Can the equipment handle bridging materials?
Yes. A vibrator on the big bag cone breaks bridging, controlled by a bridging sensor mounted under the outlet.
What lifting options are available for the big bag?
The lifting device consists of a yoke for forklift handling, alternatively a manual or motor-driven hoist — both with a maximum capacity of 1,000 kg. The hoist yoke can handle up to 1,500 kg.
What materials is the equipment available in?
The equipment is available in painted “black” steel, or in stainless or acid-resistant steel. The hoist beam and the lifting yokes for hoist and forklift are, however, only available in painted “black” steel.
Is it possible to get a big bag discharger adapted to other bag dimensions?
Yes, big bag dischargers for big bags with other dimensions can be offered on request.

Yes. The systems can be delivered turnkey and tested from Tomal’s factory, and TOMAL is certified according to SS-EN ISO 9001.
