Polymer for flocculation

Optimized sludge dewatering at paper mills

Pulp and paper industries generate large amounts of process water that form the by-product sludge during treatment. This bioremediation can produce two sludges, fiber sludge and biological sludge.

When mixing polymer with sludge, the particles flocculate. This in turn leads to a separation of water and thus a reduction in sludge volume. To achieve a high dry matter (DM) content, it is important to maximize the efficiency of the polymer processor.

Thanks to Tomal’s efficient and batch polymer processor, designed for both dry polymer (powder) and wet polymer (emulsion) preparation, a low cost is achieved in the long term due to low polymer consumption. The polymer processor is also suitable for both pre-watering in, for example, a sludge thickener or a general dewatering in, for example, a centrifuge.
