Activated carbon for the removal of dioxins and heavy metals

Effective flue gas cleaning through accurate and safe dosing
Incineration produces dioxins and heavy metals that are toxic. To capture these, many incinerators use a method where activated carbon is injected into the flue gas. The dioxins and also heavy metals are adsorbed and thus filtered out.
Tomal’s delivery includes a silo plant with dosing equipment and pneumatic transport. Activated carbon is then added as a dry powder directly to the flue gas duct before the filter. As activated carbon is classified as explosive, we can also include a plant that complies with the ATEX directives.
